Oliver Stone is full of s@#%. His movies always have been extremely slanted to reflect his views. For entertainment purposes that's not a problem. However, to release a movie about a sitting president, especially so close to the election date, is amazingly irresponsible. What would be the harm in waiting a few more weeks, or better yet, until the subject of the movie has left office? A little respect for the position would be appropriate.

I totally agree with the above comment, and I think the release date of this movie is to help Barrack get the votes. Even though he may not like Georgr W,. he should still show some respect for the office!

Hollywood has always been full of socialists and communists, just like Oliver and Obama.

. . . and al Qaeda meant no harm with their hijacked airplanes! . . . Oliver Stone has zero credibility after making such a preposterous statement. He certainly intended to do a hatchet job, only a moron would believe otherwise.

Republicans should be glad the movie isn't about Hothead McCain or the Alaskan Barracuda.

This is another move by the liberals of the West Coast to put Hussein Obama in the White House. Shame shame!!

you people who would call Barack Obama a socialist and "Hussein," which *is* his real middle name, would love to take away our constitutional rights, just like your facist heros, Dick Cheney and his puppet, GWB, are doing. You cannot tolerate anybody's views UNLESS they are your views. You complain over the "liberal news media," but you have no qualms bowing before the altar of Faux News, Rush Limbaugh, Shawn Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes, who are all but perpetuating the "takeover" of rabid, knuckle-dragging right wingers.

Reference: Bus Reilly:
Just what constitutional rights have you lost? Define a Fascist! As for Obama being a Socialist. A Socialist believes that Government should have control of the economy, regulate income, provide for the health and welfare of the citizen, and have regulatory control of business. That defines Obama's ideology pretty accurately. You probably equate socialism as communism. This shows you don't really know what your talking about and blindly follow without thinking which makes you a Lemming (Look it up). Drink up, Koolaide for everyone.

And if anyone believes Oliver Stoned isn't a radical perverter of the truth to further his political opinion is deserving of the Obama future.

You Cletuses all need to get back to work! Those holes aren't going to get into that metal any quicker! That box isn't just going to put itself into the truck!
If Stone makes you so mad, why don't you make your own movie about how beautiful W looks when the sun hits him just so.... or if the fact that Obama is going to be your COMMANDER IN CHIEF in less than a month makes you so scared, why don't you run for office? Or MOVE?
Obama 08/12

I agree with sore winner... you slack-jawed yokels need to take off your white hoods and read a book every once in a while!

Hey, Rebeckah, why don't you leave our great country? Go somewhere like Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan and see how a 'true' conservative country treats their ladies.

Hmm haven't cared much for Mr. Stone since he came to Dallas to film JFK and then wouldn't pay the extras.
I hope Obama taxes him and his Hollywood buddies into oblivion.

The people who go and see this have already made their minds up on voting blue. This won't change anyone's opinion or swing any votes. I do think it's funny that O is calling this movie "based on a true story". When in the hell did he ever have lunch with Ch and W....and talk national security with them. Mr. O can go hug a tree. As for you lefties out there.....Texas is a red state, so suck it!

Just like his JFK movie,I am sure he won`t let anything like facts get in the way of his side of the story. His movies all suck anyway and I`ll be glad when his 10 minutes is over with

Bus Reilly - Obama has stated exactly which rights he is going to take away. Mr. Obama wants to make me into a felon. Why exactly should I vote for him again?
Posted by Joy @ 12:56 AM Tue, Oct 14, 2008
I am not blind to the mistakes of the Bush administration. However, I do believe there should be respect for the Office of the President, especially when the subject of the movie is still in office. My question is, what does it say about Mr. Stone's faith in his party's candidate when he believes he must release the movie before the election in order for Mr. Obama to win on Nov. 4?
Also, whoever bases his/her decision to vote for a specific candidate on a movie has a serious problem. If you are a citizen who is undecided, look at the party platforms and the candidates personal records, not an Oliver Stone movie!

There are movies and rap songs; then there is reality.
the reality is that Bush gained office through dubious shenanigans with the FL Sec of State and the Supreme Court and a docile Al Gore/Senate.
Bush then governed as if he had won a landslide mandate and proceeded to gut regulation and fair play in his (and the Repub congress) attempt create the right's version of Free-Market Jesus World.
Give the wealthy and corporate everything they want and they'll take care of the rest of us. The real American Elite trot this nonsense out at every chance to the same devastating effect. Whether they call it "Mercantilism", "Laizes Faire", "Supply Side", "Free Market", these policies are inevitably followed by recession and depression. (in the case of Bush, it resulted not only in the decimation of our economy, but directly, through criminal negligence and incompetence, to the horrible crime of 9/11/01!)
When finally forced to face reality, the Elites on the Right (Grandson and son of Admirals; scion of oil tycoons and presidents are elites. Not someone who puts himself through Harvard with scholarships and loans.) are all to happy to accept the 'Socialism' of Government bailouts and tax credits and 'Eminent Domain' property levies, etc.
As for Stone; it's a movie! if you don't want to support it, go see the drivel "American Carol", and pretend to laugh at the best talent the Right can muster.

“W” is directed by acclaimed director Oliver Stone so it must be factual and historically accurate. For your weekend enjoyment, consider a double feature of “W” along with another one of Lionsgate’s recognized and esteemed movies:
Saw V,
The Punisher: War Zone, or
The Spirit.
With all of these quality films and an acclaimed director, one might wonder why a major motion picture producer didn’t cherry pick “W” for production.
