July 8, 2008Chicago Tribune critic Michael Phillips says that The Dark Knight (opening July 18) is a sure thing: The new Batman picture...will be the biggest of the summer, the biggest of the year and one of the pop cinematic phenoms of the new century. Even if it wasn't very good, it'd be big. But it's very good. It's potent blockbuster filmmaking -- grander and more unsettling than director Christopher Nolan's previous entry in the franchise, Batman Begins. Phillips also calls Christian Bale's co-star, the late Heath Ledger, "a marvel, a one-man insane clown posse." Yikes! I can't wait. Count me as one who will definitely be in line for this film.

Mr. Wilson, who plays a washed-up drummer from an '80s hair band in the movie, will take part in a Q&A session with the audience after the screening. To try to get into the screening--it's first-come, first-served--you'd need to add the Sonic Red profile to your MySpace page, print out the page and bring it to the theater. Organizers recommend arriving early. (Dallasites love their early screenings.) More info here. Dallas is "City 3."
