Movie Critic Chris Vognar offers up an early look at Iron Man. Technically it opens tomorrow, but you can find it at plenty of theaters starting at 8 tonight. Are you heading out tonight to see it? If so, check back and tell us what you thought. And what do you think about movies that start screening a day before its official "opening"? Special sneak peak for geeks, or marketing ploy to inflate box office totals? Archived Comments |

THINGS TO DO

I'm going. Luckily, the theater in Corinth has about 6 showings tonight, so if we don't get in the first one, I'm sure another will be open. I'm definitely excited, especially with all the glowing reviews. But I think opening any movie earlier than 12:01 opening day is really a marketing ploy. But with Iron Man, I'm definitely getting sucked in.
Saw it Thursday night and was blown away(nearly literally). The movie was great. Even when I knew what was coming, I was surprised. I didn't even look at my watch or get up to go to the restroom. We didn't get there as early as I wanted and had to sit near the front at SMG Lewisville so the speakers blew us away. The air conditioning froze us, but the popcorn is great.
By the way, in regards to opening early, most likely a marketing ploy. Worked out great for us, though, as our free tickets to SMG Lewisville were good through May 1. Woo Hoo!
