I enjoyed Iron Man (and so did my boys), particularly Robert Downey Jr.'s dry delivery as the superhero who seems a bit surprised by his own suddenly discovered fervor for doing good. Although it did strike me that isn't this one of the ultimate techno-fantasies of our time -- that with enough high-powered mechanical devices we can make ourselves invulnerable? And did it make anyone even a teensy bit uncomfortable to see him blasting the bad guys with such ease in Afghanistan just as so many Americans thought our superior technological might would allow us to do as the war started?

O.K., O.K., I admit that Made of Honor deserved its low rating for internal flaws and being derivative of My Best Friend's Wedding. Still, I think it's worth noting that Patrick Dempsey is establishing himself as quite a likeable leading man (from Enchanted to this) and this is a fun date movie.

The real question for the weekend ... what the heck is Made of Honor doing playing at the Inwood? Why don't they just get it over with and book Iron Man, instead?
