I found it upsetting that they left Brad Renfro off the Obituaries list.

I personally think this was one of the best ceremonies in recent years. It really didn't seem to drag on all that much, even with the extra montages. Stewart was a class act all the way. I especially loved when he brought Marketa back out to say her thank yous, because that was pretty low to cut her off like that. I'd love for him to return next year, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ellen DeGeneres or Steve Martin back soon.

It was great to see so many first-time winners, and most seemed shocked and very grateful. But the show itself was a bore. Firstly, where were the A-list actors as presenters? I always like the highlight reels, so that didn't bother me, but they should have had past screen couples return, too: Sally Field with Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep with Robert Redford, Shirley MacClaine with Jack. Those pairings would have better justified the "trip down memory lane", and highlighted the star-wattage of great acting.

The commercials that ABC had to insert after every awards was a whip. I refuse to watch another "Oscars" live. Next year, TIVO and NO COMMERCIALS.
It was incredibly overkill, and I really don't know whose fault that is. Wish someone would pay attention, though.
