No. 138 with a bullet (Fox Searchlight)

One of the joys of IMDB (that's the Internet Movie Database for the less Web-friendly) lies in observing the exalted place of recent releases in users' ranking of all-time great movies. For instance, did you know The Shawshank Redemption is better than The Godfather: Part II and Casablanca? Well, now ya do. (Although the classics might rank higher if they had studio hacks and people over 30 jumping online and voting for them).

So we thought it would be fun to take this year's best picture nominees and see where they rank in the all-time scheme of things. Read on for the results.

There Will Be Blood: No. 21 all-time.
Which means it's better than: Citizen Kane (No. 24), Vertigo (No. 40) and Chinatown (No. 46)

No Country for Old Men: No. 34 all-time
Which means it's better than: Taxi Driver (No. 37), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (No. 54) and The Seventh Seal (No. 80).

Juno: No. 138 all-time
Which means it's better than: Brief Encounter (No. 150), The Graduate (No. 155) and The Gold Rush (No.182)

Atonement and Michael Clyaton: Still not ranked. Amazing.
